Summer’s here folks! The time when we throng to colder places because we can’t face the warmth of our benefactor Sun.
We all know that our body produces Vitamin D when its exposed to sunlight but as the adage goes everything must be consumed at the right amount.
Tanning is due to the increased production of melanin in your skin that determines the color of your skin. Prolonged and frequent exposure to UV rays is the primary cause of skin cancer.
Hence, it’s necessary to protect your skin in summer.
Make sure that you apply a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 and above. Apply it once every 2-3 hours to enhance your protection from the UV rays throughout the day. Wash your face at least twice a day.
Try to limit the exposure time between 10 am and 3 pm because during that time the rays are said to be stronger. Try to cover your skin as much as possible. Light colors are the best since they don’t absorb a lot of heat and light.
Stay away from cigarettes or any other kind of smoking habits because they cause severe damage to the skin cells, causes wrinkles, etc.
Don’t bath or shower for a long time. Don’t use hot water because it erodes away the natural oils of the skin to keep it moisturized.
After bathing, don’t rub your skin with a towel instead just pat it dry.
Kick out the stress. Yes, you read it right. Stress can make your skin sensitive or more sensitive if it already is and can cause breakouts.
Keep your hairs away from the face because the oil and sweat from the hair will affect your skin, which may lead to pimples and outbreaks.
Use the correct face wash and moisturizer depending upon your skin type.
Try not to eat many oily foods. Stay hydrated. Drink lots of water. Some claim it gives a radiant and younger looking skin.
Aloe vera is an all-rounder that can be used for all skin types. You can just apply the gel. It reduces pimples, moisturizes the skin, makes the skin less oil, heals the scars left behind by a pimple, etc.
Try to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. They provide you with the necessary nutrients. Eat an amla in an empty in the morning. It contains Vitamin A that keeps your skin glowing and in perfect condition.
An apple a day keeps a doctor away. It contains Vitamin C that helps in delaying skin aging. It prevents free radical damage, which causes premature skin aging.
Beetroots contain anti-oxidants, which help in having a glowing skin, and it prevents wrinkles. Tomatoes also contain anti-oxidants which help prevent skin aging and protect your skin. It also prevents pimples. You can just take a slice of tomato and apply it on your skin.
Sweet potatoes contain both Vitamin A and C, which helps in fighting acne-causing bacteria and improves the skin tone. Strawberries contain malic acid and anti-oxidants, which gives radiance to your skin. The citrus fruits lemon and orange, which contain a high amount of Vitamin C, helps in preventing acne, pimple, and blackheads.
Carrots contain a huge amount of beta-carotenes, which is converted into Vitamin A, will help in maintaining a healthy skin. It is better to eat it raw because it keeps both your teeth and skin healthy.
