Smoky Dearth

Poet- Oohini Mukhopadhyay

image

A sinking ship and a running sore

Drought struck hearts like dried up lemons

Weakened knots and deferred vows

Lofty virtues fading merit

Soaking tyranny and lacking lustre

Abandoned eyes, unheard cries

Absent solitude, a refugee horde

Concealed conveniently in endeavouring tranquility.
